miller diving® helmet important safety notice

Miller Diving® Helmet Important Safety Notice March 10, 1993.

Subject: Dangerous modifications to Miller Diving® helmets.

It has come to our attention that some divers and diving companies are using Miller Diving® helmets which apparently have been dangerously modified.

It is our understanding that these modifications include the removal of the head harness which serves as the primary restraining device for the helmet and a non-restraining headliner, commonly known as a "snoopy", is used in place of the Miller Diving® head harness.

Also, possible removal of the face seal and substitution of the Miller Diving® Oral-Nasal with another brand has reportedly occurred.

The Miller Diving® oral-nasal. face seal, and head harness have been designed to work together to provide a safe and secure helmet mounting system.

Obviously, removal or modification or substitution of any part or component has never been contemplated nor authorized by Miller Diving® Equipment, Inc. and will make the Miller Diving® Helmet unsafe for diving.

Any and all modified helmets must be taken out of service immediately and returned to their original condition, as purchased, using only genuine Miller Diving® replacement parts.

Miller Diving® Equipment, Inc., Inc. will make itself available for any assistance which you may require.
