Change to Product Bulletin No. 1 of 2004, 7 June.
Subject: Helmet Coating
All Black Miller Diving® 400 Helmets manufactured after January, 2004
Miller Diving® Equipment is now electrostatic epoxy powder coating areas on the Miller Diving® 400 Helmet that were previously painted with marine grade Epoxy paint. This process has many advantages over the previously used method of hand painting.
The Powder Coating process is done in three stages which will help insure that the finish coat will be more durable and consistent. The helmet, regulator body and regulator cover will have a black "Hammer" finish, similar to the "stippling" finish on previous Helmets.
The finish coat will continue to be an Epoxy base. This allows the use of marine grade epoxy paint for any touch-ups if necessary.
In addition, Miller Diving® Equipment is offering a service for owners of older Miller Diving® 400 Helmet Shells to have their shells refinished with the new powder coat. See your nearest Miller Diving® Equipment dealer or write to Miller Diving Equipment, Inc., Inc. for pricing & details.
